The last 15 plus years have seen me working as a successful pharmaceutical microbiologist, primarily as a team leader with some auditing and regional management thrown in.
In the meantime, I have maintained my arty inclinations by designing and developing websites, skinning Quake characters and dabbling in animation and film typography with my trusty Commodore 64.
In 2010 I acquired a graphics tablet. I’d wanted one of these for years and wish I’d gotten one waaaay back when. This reinvigorated my artwork. When I saw an internal ad for a graphics designer at about the same time I thought, “hey, that sounds interesting and is something I’d enjoy”. It was not long before I was enrolled in a Diploma of Commercial Arts.
Outside of science and art, I play at being a state level cyclist, finishing top 10 in B grade for the most part (in the ITT at least) and constantly tweaking my training plan for the elusive edge of the competition.
